Uganda – On January 14, Ugandans will go to polls to cast their votes in search for the next President from a dozen candidates competing for the same seat.
Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine has for the past months staged a tough contest in a bid to oust incumbent President Yoweri Museveni aged 75.
However, reports indicate that Kyagulanyi has flown out of the country his four children led by their aunt, Kyomuhimbo Asiimwe Jolly ( sister to Barbra) and their uncle, Rubahamya Baron.
Snoops at the airport managed to take a glimpse of the family as they checked in ahead of their flight on Wednesday evening aboard Qatar Airways headed for Texas USA.
Kyagulanyi and his wife Barbie are still in Uganda as their children will be thousands of kilometres away in the United States- the pop star’s decision to fly his children to safety could imply a bigger concern regarding their security.
For the past weeks, Kyagulanyi and his supporters under the National Unity Platform political party have suffered strings of torment from security personnel sometimes leading to gruesome incidences of shooting to death, tear gas, poison sprays and a lot more.
“After imprisoning our entire campaign team, today they blocked the new medical & security teams and impounded the media cars. They said I must go to the campaign alone. But the people are saying something. Iganga earlier. This is a revolution,” Kyagulanyi said on Wednesday.
He added, “As we near the finish line, our message is mainly calling upon Ugandans to come out massively and vote on the 14th of January and ensure that they guard their vote. Freedom is truly in sight.”
