Bobiwine has promised that if the National Unity Platform captures power in the 2021 elections, he vowed to lessen the Value Added Tax from the current 18% to 10%.
“The NUP Govt will zero rate VAT on all homegrown products & lessen VAT on local business from 18 to 10%. He added that this will make hydropower more available for home businesses. This will also help SMEs,grow faster.
According to Kyagulanyi , the expanded interest and use of power will thus make many open businesses,and this will in turn increase household incomes.
Bobiwine decried of the high power tarrifs and says this had failed so many businesses,yet most of it is exported cheaply to neighboring nations.
Uganda will be voting for President next year 2021 on the 14th of January.
