The Vatican has launched investigations into finding out how the papal Instagram account liked a risqué photo of Brazilian model Natalia Garibotto.
It further noted sources close to the Vatican press had confirmed to it that the pope’s social media accounts were managed by a team of employees The Investigations were launched after the 27-year-old model Natalia Garibotto told her social media audience that the pontiff’s account was among the 133,000 that had liked an image of her on November 13.
The picture like by the pope featured Garibotto wearing a lingerie outfit that resembled a school uniform with her mostly-uncovered behind visible.
Garibotto’s management and publicity firm is said to have used the papal account’s like for publicity purposes, posting on its account that the firm had “received the Pope’s official blessing”. Neither Garibotto nor Pope Francis’ official account follow each other on Instagram further noting Pope Francis’s Instagram account does not follow any other accounts.
Garabotto’s claims were confirmed by a video screenshot shared on Twitter by Barstool Sports on Friday, November 13. The aforementioned Twitter account claimed the model was overexcited on learning the Pope had ”double-tapped” on the photo.
“My mom may hate my ass pics but the Pope be ‘double-tapping’,” she told Barstool Sports. As far as we know, it could be a slip of the thumb or just an honest move made by the Pope or one of his social media managers.
