Rwanda Court hands 2 year sentence to 15 year old boy

Court in Kigali hands 2 year suspended sentence to boy Nzamwita Mustafa (Ramadhan) for possession and sale of cannabis. Meaning he won’t go to jail. The court also determined that he was 15yrs, and not 13yrs as he had claimed. The court also handed him a Rwf 1m fine ($1,000).

It’s unclear where he’ll serve sentence at this point, but likely in a state juvenile rehabilitation center where such youths are given new life skills. Teenager doesn’t also have to pay the fine, not until he abuses the conditions of his lenient sentence. The case raised storm
