Shampoos come in various strengths depending on the conditions of the hair they are formulated to cleanse. Most of the shampoos are alkaline meaning that they have a high PH that is higher than the accepted PH for the skin, scalp and hair which is between 4.5-5.5.
Alkaline shampoos tend to be harsh especially on hair that is chemically treated. In fact, alkaline shampoos should never be used on chemically treated hair. Rather the Acid -balanced shampoos like placenta which you can get from a good cosmetic shop. Most of the acid -balanced shampoos come in two in one meaning they act as shampoo and conditioner at the same time.
to be sure just read the manufacturer’ instructions on application and usage. Acid balanced shampoos are mild and gentle and as such tend to sooth the scalp. Ask your hair dresser to be gentle while shampooing your hair since rough scratching can lead to more scalp irritation.
NOTE
If you use a hair conditioner, apply it to yourhair, focusing on the ends, Leave it on for a minute or two, then rinse it out (conditioner is harder to rinse out than shampoo).
